Alexey Zakhlestin's personal blog at blog.milkfarmsoft.com covers programming and web. Since 2011, 3 different Hacker News readers have linked it 4 times. No feed was found, so read it on the site itself.
Too few sampled comments (1) to say how often HN recommends it.?
Why HN links it
Linked in a thread on Silex, a PHP framework modelled on ExpressJS. The post, from 2007, covers using PHP as an app server and memory leaks in PHP 5.2, which the commenter cites as evidence.
Summarised by Claude from a sample of 1 HN comments that link here. Each comment is marked recommending, critical or neutral (citing without judging); how this works.
What Hacker News says?
Hi. I am the author or AiP. There were a lot of leaks, when I tried this idea originally, back in php 5.2 days. See http://blog.milkfarmsoft.com/2007/06/php-as-appserver-vs-mem... for example. But 5.3 solved all of the issues. The only leaks happening these days come from "unofficial" extensions, which introduce errors on C-level. PHP code _never_ results in memory leaks these days, as far as I know.
