HN discussionGreat initiative! One bit that sticks out to me is that the "standard" math functions like `exp` or `ln` aren't imported despite `defn` being quite maths specific. It seems that they could be imported as default functions inside the scope of `defn`. That leads me to a more important syntax question though. Do you have any thoughts or plans on operator syntax for elementwise operations vs matrix level operations? One…

HN discussionA dispatch dictionary covers many of the typical usecases? https://alysivji.github.io/quick-hit-dictionary-dispatch.htm... Though I have missed switch statements a few times in Python, when implementing state machines - for parsing or sensor/actuator logic. Though these tended to be quite simple and not performance-critical, so a if/elif sequence was just fine.

on “Exploit custom codecs to write inline C in Python”Can I ask what you find tiresome, specifically? If it's because you have tons of repos, there's a little-known git feature where you can set the config for all repos in a directory, so that e.g. ~/work/* uses your work name & email, without having to `git config` every new repo you create or clone. https://alysivji.github.io/multiple-gitconfig-files.html
