HN discussionAgreed. After reading this, I finally feel like I'm beginning to grok Typed Clojure. Will probably recommend this article to newcomers to the library, especially if they have a Haskell/ML background. Hoping to take my new understanding and write a simple typed raytracer modeled after Htrace ( http://nobugs.org/developer/htrace/ ) when I've got a spare moment. Or maybe someone could beat me to the punch. :P

HN discussionKind of like Squeak Smalltalk's method finder http://wiki.squeak.org/squeak/1916 And a reimplementation in Ruby http://www.nobugs.org/developer/ruby/method_finder.html

HN discussionIf you want to work in tech in the UK but don't like the downsides of London, it's worth considering Edinburgh. The tech scene is really taking off here, with plenty of jobs (see this list of tech companies http://www.nobugs.org/deved/ ). There is much more an 'ecosystem' of tech employers than there was a few years ago. Maybe you will make 75-80% of a London salary (your mileage may vary) but your living costs are…

HN discussionThis is old hat, to a point. Names are escaping me but from time to time there've been structure-editing "text editors" that have you work at the correct "syntax" layer, instead of the level of raw text. What I'm thinking of are various "editors" that are not only syntax-aware (like in the syntax highlighting sense) but that literally enforce the program syntax, and make it difficult-to-impossible to input a "bad" p…
