Why HN links it

HN readers link this companion site to a book on visual thinking, which covers solving problems and selling ideas with simple pictures, diagrams and chart-type suggestions.

Summarised by Claude from a sample of 5 HN comments that link here. Each comment is marked recommending, critical or neutral (citing without judging); how this works.

My blog is a place where I share examples, techniques and tips on how visual thinking can be a powerful tool for creating more intuitive products that respond to market demands and provide a positive user experience.

In the broader subject of illustrating any thought I rather liked the suggestions of http://www.thebackofthenapkin.com/ . The main categories from it: who/what - portrait how much - chart where - map when - timeline how - flowchart why - multiple variable plot

  2. I've actually started regressing away from PowerPoint back into the 'chalk talk'. There's something incredibly powerful about being able to draw the idea in front of an audience which makes your presentation just that much more sticky, especially in this day of ubiquitous slides. As an additional benefit, I find that I have to put a lot more thought into what actually needs to get communicated when I have to physica…

Ah, a very clear and concise appeal. I just read http://thebackofthenapkin.com/ on a train ride last week. It's a good read about how to solve problems and sell ideas with simple pictures like the one in that post. Not sure what I can add to the discussion about the topic in the image, but I was inspired to share the book. And Seth Godin(Oh really? I hear he's on Internet.) says it makes you smarter, so maybe we can…
