Why HN links it

Commenters cite this blog's post on biased algorithms as a reference, arguing that algorithms are the wrong layer for fixing racist outcomes. Other comments touch on JavaScript and Go testing.

  3. Actually barring some metabolic disorder, calories in calories out IS correct. Not only is it correct, I find that bodies are quite mechanical in that nature. 9. Not sure if this is helpful, but I wrote a long response to The Best: http://blog.chewxy.com/2012/11/08/the-best-really/ In this I raise the point of "the best" being a meaningless measure as we're actively bombarded by lack of information and other factors that make us terrible in making calls on whether something is "the best". I think it's rather hollow to claim that one wants 'the best' and yet doesn't discount…

  13. My toolkit hasn't changed since 2016: - Jupyter + Pandas for exploratory work, quickly define a model - Go (Gonum/Gorgonia) for production quality work. 21. a touch screen is essentially one big button. It hides away all the complexities of a physical interface. The problem with this is people tend to add a lot of extras. I wrote[0] that the internet radio thing cannot be done in the Tesla without a touchscreen. FWIW, this idea is slightly better than the one in my Tesla screen complaint, but still not any better. Which is why I put my shitty scripts in gist (in fact I am such a shitty programmer, I practically have an empty github public profile), I share them in my blog, and last week, I was actually horrified that someone used my shitty scripts and shitty methods that I outlined in my blog ( http://blog.chewxy.com/2012/11/16/random-documents-from-couc... ), I removed my gist. 29. Ahem. Let me be the first to say, YUCK!!! I don't understand why people like this language. I am sure it has it's uses etc., but come on, if you want to build a reliable, easy-to-reason program, using JS is just running up a escalator that is going down. https://abdulapopoola.com/2015/09/30/why-javascript-seems-to... http://rhodesmill.org/brandon/2012/js/ http://dorey.github.io/JavaScript-Equality-Table/ https://www…
