What Hacker News says?
Searching (on DDG) for "Bill Hartzer" and "GoDaddy" doesn't turn up any obvious affiliation. There are DNS related articles by "Bill Hartzer", but they seem more to be calling out places for doing shady crap. Including GoDaddy (for front running?). eg: https://www.billhartzer.com/domain-names/godaddy-caught-regi... That's just an initial impression anyway. ;)

HN discussionThis sorta reminds me of when Regions Bank forgot to renew its domain name.. for everything a smart business can do to acquire customers, developing groundbreaking software, etc - sometimes the things that break are the most obvious and mundane.. https://www.billhartzer.com/pages/regions-bank-fails-to-rene...

HN discussionShady company. For a while if you used their domain availability lookup, they would register the domain, forcing you to pay them if you wanted it. http://www.billhartzer.com/pages/network-solutions-registeri...
