You know, there are, and have been many, many good comic fonts out there. Blambot sells them gives many others away for free. This is where actual comic book creators go for fonts. Anytime I see someone insisting on using Comic Sans, I gently inform them that Comic Sans isn't even a good comic font, and point them to Blambot, where they can get better ones. http://blambot.com

Well on top of the tone argument, it's just not a particularly good comic font. There are literally hundreds of similar, but better fonts out there. Check out http://blambot.com for some nice ones. There are plenty there that are more appropriate even for a cartoon dog.

  7. Examples of alternatives? Glad to. Blambot(1) makes a range of great ones, especially Giant Sized Spectacular, and I'm personally partial to Loose(2). (1) http://www.blambot.com/fonts_design.shtml (2) http://new.myfonts.com/fonts/zeptonn/loose/
