Why HN links it
HN readers link BLEN's write-up on the background of Unfurlough.us, a freelance gig site for furloughed employees. The comments mostly correct who built the site, not judge the writing.
Summarised by Claude from a sample of 2 HN comments that link here. Each comment is marked recommending, critical or neutral (citing without judging); how this works.
BLEN is a small, AI-native team in Washington, D.C. building digital services for federal agencies: agentic AI, legacy modernization and accessible digital services.
What Hacker News says?
Your reference to making lemonade from lemons seems to imply that the people who made it were furloughed. This doesn't appear to be the case. It seems to have been built by people working for a private company: http://www.blencorp.com/
