Redirecting... is the company blog at blog.auxon.io, writing about programming and hardware. Since 2019, 6 different Hacker News readers have linked it 11 times, most often “Using Type-Level Programming in Rust to Make Safer Hardware Abstractions”. No feed was found, so read it on the site itself.
Too few sampled comments (1) to say how often HN recommends it.?
Why HN links it
The linked post covers property-based testing and includes a graphic of the spectrum of testing options. One commenter asks for thoughts on that graphic and for high-level resources on the range of testing options.
Summarised by Claude from a sample of 1 HN comments that link here. Each comment is marked recommending, critical or neutral (citing without judging); how this works.

What Hacker News says?
I don't know. I'm of course biased, though that bias is built on several years of dealing with increasingly critical systems and the entirely avoidable issues those systems faced due to a preponderance of foot-guns that could have been otherwise mitigated with clever use of "ahead of time" constraint checking and enforcement. Not to mention the runtime quality and localizability of your diagnostics goes up a ton too…

HN discussion> and you can get approximately just as much correctness with pretty low-touch unit & integration tests This isn't accurate. It both vastly overstates the domain & value of unit tests and vastly understates what's possible to assure using types [1]. 1) https://blog.auxon.io/2019/10/25/type-level-registers/ disclaimer: I am the CEO & co-founder of the linked company, but it nonetheless shows some very powerful uses o…

HN discussionWe used methods akin to this back in 2019 for creating low-level HALs for insanely complicated SoCs (think experimental switch fabric controllers). We wanted the compiler to reject any program that was attempting to access the hardware incorrectly because the dev-test cycle was slow, the hardware was very fiddly, and debugging was miserable. The register definitions were all generated from the supplier data sheet (a…

HN discussionWe use A LOT of Property-Based Testing at Auxon. It's both a fantastically practical addition to existing testing methods as well as a pretty viable on-ramp to the way of thinking about your software/systems that more "formal" verification approaches require of you. Earlier this year one of my teammates wrote a little bit deeper dive into the practice, rather than the premise of PBT that I thought was quite good. Gr…

HN discussionThis sort of thing is something we abused about Rust quite some time ago to make safer interfaces to low-level hardware. https://blog.auxon.io/2019/10/25/type-level-registers/
