  3. Personally, I do believe and still on the perpetual aim for that “You have to be right just once.” For me, it is not about the “right one(s).” My philosophy is that I should be able to “Walk Out” from situations, deals, and options that I picked and be ready for the next. I wrote about Walking Out,[1] but more from a content/digital life perspective. I do follow similar thinking with life situations too. I’m neither…

  7. I have thought of this; thought not unto 500 years but more like -- so my kids can just keep to somewhere to read. My thought process was to start with as much simplification as possible -- plain text. While you are still able to maintain that, perhaps write in something like Markdown -- plain text enough with the formatting enough to separate the sections/content. Use a tool to convert those to HTML, which can be h…

  11. There is the ever popular book, “How to Win Friends and Influence People.” I like it in ways that it helps you reflect on your own lifestyle and interactions with people. Of course, one should build up their own ways of living, nonetheless, I like the book and often re-read it. https://brajeshwar.com/2016/how-to-win-friends-and-influence...

  17. Since the last few years, I have made it a habit to write about the books[1] I read without trying to add my smart-a* comment but more as a way to come back later in life and read the articles. For this year, here are some of the books I liked (quite a few of them are re-reads); - The Story of My Experiments with Truth, the autobiography of Mohandas K. Gandhi (English Version) - Genghis Khan and the Making of the Mo…

  19. I have had a blog since 2001 (wow! about to hit 25 years soon), while many of my peers have dropped off. Remember, this was the time when Wikipedia started. I’ve neglected it and have not taken care of it as much as I used to 10+ years ago. I did away with analytics about 5 years ago. WP-Engine grandfathered me while I was on WordPress, but I gave that up, too. Now, I write for myself, mostly to remember things that…

  21. Obsidian answers one of the key questions I asked these days of tools that I use, “Can I walk out of this easily and seamlessly?” The best tools are the ones that get things done and get out of the way. When the time comes, you can walk out of Obsidian easily without being a hostage in any format. The few plugins that I use are the ones I can walk out too and live without it. I love the idea of spending extra time t…

  23. I like writing much better,[1] and after a fair share of Moleskin, Field Notes, and a long streak with Muji, I’m now blown away by Midori. I have already gotten a few, and I’m going to get a lot more. The tactile ‘scratch’ of the fountain pen on the Midori Paper is so soothing, it makes me feel like I’m a poet even when I’m writing down the most mundane idea that I just had. :-) https://brajeshwar.com/2025/notes/

  25. Pi-Hole is brilliant. I set up[1] one few years back and used for over a year. Here are the issues; - When I'm away from home and traveling, if something goes wrong, the Pi-Hole is usually the single source of that error, and is hard to solve by talking to my wife to walkthrough the settings. - A few websites (India in my case), mostly government ones, do not work when Ads are blocked. Try paying LIC Premium or even…

  27. About 7-8 years ago, I fell in love with Japanese stationery, starting with a simple brand—Muji. I’m never going back. For pens, I’m with Lamy and Kaweco for now, but I’m eager to try a bunch of Japanese brands. Recently, I caved in and bought a few Midori MD notebooks.[1] Try them, mainly if you write with a fountain pen. The tactile feedback and the subtle scratchy sound become the music that fills the silent room…
