  1. I'm in Iceland for 6 months on their new teleworker visa. It took a couple of months to get, but it's pretty straightforward: https://ozar.me/2021/01/whew-we-got-iceland-teleworker-visas...

  3. Brent the author here. No, I did not expect the Surface to be as productive as a Windows laptop, but I did expect that Word would be able to keep up with me while I type - just as any other modern device is. I'm not asking to do 3D renderings, just to type a document. For what it's worth, I also wrote about why I was preordering it here: http://ozar.me/2012/10/why-i-preordered-a-microsoft-surface-...

The first thing to do is read the startup's legal agreements. In our case, when we started the company, we agreed that partners (owners) could not participate in a business that competed with our own. You could leave at any time and do something competitive - but if you…

  9. > I also realized that storage's performance had very little to do with the benchmark's scores as in order to game the benchmark one would simply add more memory. Reminds me of the time [1] Fusion-IO showed how good their drives were for SQL Server by running benchmarks with just 16GB of RAM enabled, even though the servers had 384GB RAM. Under direct questioning, they admitted that if you just used the rest of the…
