Why HN links it

HN readers link Bryntum's product pages, demos and examples, mostly for its JavaScript Gantt chart, data grid and Siesta testing tool. The comments discuss the products and pricing rather than the writing.

What Hacker News says?

  1. Grouping of headers + rows supported. https://bryntum.com/examples/grid/grouping/ Pivot on the way, ETA Q1/Q2 2022 Would love to hear any additional features you feel should be present in a full fledged grid package.

  3. Wow, $2040 for a table component: https://www.bryntum.com/store/ . I'd pay that in a heartbeat if it had the API and UI that fits in with the rest of my software. Better an upfront price in dollars for a component that I know will be well-supported by a company than a "free" component that will likely be abandoned or mismanaged by one bored developer

  7. I was basing that at the Example code on your site http://bryntum.com/examples/gantt-latest/examples/basic/basi... which a bit short of 2MB (at least when loaded by Safari and Chrome, it seems to load differently in Firefox)... It would be great if you guys could show off your skills in a optimized demo site...

  9. That´s great, the first jQuery based Gantt that does dependencies. Exactly what I´m looking for :) In terms of style, this one is nice as well: http://taitems.github.com/jQuery.Gantt/ If it wouldn´t be for using Ext.js and the large code size, this one is the most polished in terms of look and function: http://bryntum.com/products/gantt/ If you need any help with styling it a bit differnt, give me a shout :)

  11. For JavaScript unit testing I have been pleased with Siesta so far ( http://bryntum.com/products/siesta/ ). The standard version can be automated using Selenium or PhantomJS.

Your product can be the best. But i, like google and others use siesta-js for unit tests and interface tests with mouse simulation. Its all js and runs natively on every browser See the demo: http://www.bryntum.com/examples/siesta-latest/examples/brows... It can record your actions and generate the tests. Worth looking.
