What Hacker News says?

  1. Some others have asked for an epub version too. I have this article [1] bookmarked, so if it goes well, I'll add epub as well this month. If you know pandoc, you could use the markdown source in the repo to generate a basic version and see if it works with your reader. Nice and thanks for sharing your setup. The footer is very informative, but I use GitHub style markdown, need to check if there's some workaround. For epub customization, this article [0] might help. Good luck for your book. Here's how I generate PDF with pandoc+xelatex [1] I use gvim as my editor and have mapped a key (which then executes a shell script) to generate the book. [0] https://cmichel.io/how-to-create-be…

  4. Yes, I believe so. I'm working on an app at the moment which uses ClojureScript on top of React Native. When I finish it I'll write something up. You can see an existing writeup on using React Native with JS here: http://cmichel.io/lessons-from-building-first-react-native-a... It basically works by running JS in a separate thread and doing the usual virtual DOM diffing algorithm to determine when to update and swap…

  5. CMU and other schools with blockchain courses should be teaching about the ethics and legal penalties and ecological consequences of running blockchain pyramid schemes and scams, instead of teaching students how to hype, evangelize, and retroactively contrive use cases for existing Ponzi schemes like CMU Coin. The world already has more than enough Bitcoin shills. Universities don't need to be pumping and dumping mo…

I don’t work in crypto but I read a ton of tech blogs and this guy: https://cmichel.io/ Seems legit and claims to have made one million in 14 months in bug bounties, although he was #1 on some leaderboard. Based on his blog I think he’s probably one of the best in the world at smart contract security so it’s probably not a realistic goal for most people , but assuming the blogger is honest I think you underestimate…
