Why HN links it
Linked as an image exhibit of early personal computers such as the 6502, Z80 and 8-bit machines, cited to explain the historical meaning of the term 'PC'.
Summarised by Claude from a sample of 1 HN comments that link here. Each comment is marked recommending, critical or neutral (citing without judging); how this works.

What Hacker News says?
Those terms come from the 70's when PC meant 6502, 6800, 6809, Z80 or other 8 (and later 16) bit small computer which was meant for a single user instead of the time sharing minis and mainframes. No wonder newer generations who missed the transition from minis and mainframes to personal computers find it very confusing.
