What Hacker News says?

  1. I think the trend of demonopolizing currencies is unstoppable, just take time. I argue that this can be part of a new cold war dimension between countries and when some countries block financial initiatives others fund an opportunity. I wrote a little bit more about this vision in [1]. [1] https://blog.coinfabrik.com/libra-association-a-menace-and-a...

It can be interesting for some people here the research review we recently published about ECDSA and ECIES for the secp256k1 elliptic curve (used in Bitcoin and Ethereum): http://blog.coinfabrik.com/ecdsa-security-in-bitcoin-and-eth... and http://blog.coinfabrik.com/some-comments-on-the-security-of-...

  9. I see the article full of text just as a SEO tactic. There is no real substance there: > Problem #1: Lack of developer friendliness As we described above, Ethereum solves this problem by design through its expressive programming language and strong developer tooling. The author doesn't have direct experience with Solidity, where the tooling is buggy and there are many subtle ambiguities and security issues that are…

  11. In July 2016, we created a simple spreadsheet [1] comparing different blockchains and security state of the art at that time [2]. There are things to review there but the theoretical attack to Bitcoin was relatively low for state actors and miners. Miners are not incentivized to do this or do it only as the latest option. It is also important to know that new blockchain technologies such as Solana, Algorand, Avalanc…

I know that the HN is not fan of crypto but I would like to add a decentralization point of speed cubing: "How To Model A Rubik’s Cube in Algorand’s TEAL" [1] this was written by Guido who is one of the top speedcubers in Latam and was invited to join the discussion here. I complement with our detailed experiences in "What I Have Learned From My Arbitrage Experiences with Cryptoassets"[1] and in "An Efficient Algorithm to Exploit Arbitrage Opportunities in Crypto Markets" [2]. 21. By coincidence we just published an article [1] comparing automated tools to human auditing in smart contracts. I am reviewing your article for expanding ours. 27. There is an important part of the multisig puzzle missing in the article: the need for an out of band protocol to communicate copayers for joining a wallet and spending bitcoins. This is something that Copay ( https://copay.io ) does but there is no standard way to do this. There are other issues. For example, Coinbase doesn't support it fully. 29. Yes, we develop many cryptocurrency/blockchain applications (e.g. Bitcoin, Ethereum) using Node.js under Windows. Some people use Visual Studio (I think the best) while others use WebStorm. The issue with path length is almost always experienced with Visual Studio and when it is solved is because the developer moved the project to C:\ the same project works well with WebStorm. I don't remember having issues with pat…
