HN discussionAlso helpful would be a brief list of functionality so you can make a comparison more fairly. Bootstrap's minified 122kB css weight (with responsive) is huge compared to that of Skeleton's 12kB, but the former has more features. Or Toast, with it's 3.7kB min size but even fewer features than Skeleton. Skeleton: http://www.getskeleton.com/ Toast: http://daneden.me/toast/ Bootstrap: http://twitter.github.com/bootstrap/

HN discussionSame experience for me with HN Thread http://kaspa.rs/hn-bookmarklet/ . This seems to work much better. Let's take this url as an example http://daneden.me/animate/ . With HN Thread I get one page. With Hacker Panel I just get the submission screen. With this bookmarklet I get all three times the page was submitted to Hacker News. Thanks OP.

HN discussionWhat a pretentious article. > Do NOT Use Black on White > The only reason I don't visit Quora is bad typography. Yeah, I am that crazy! Meanwhile, OP's body copy is a heavy slab-serif, his headers are a custom sans-serif without any margins or visual differences besides 6px in size. Using something like http://www.gridlover.net/ , you can accomplish better readability and hierarchy. He suggests type based on what's…

HN discussion1. You are exposing your source code to anyone who might be interested. I think that exposing your CSS source code with comments etc is more beneficial than detrimental. It helps us have a more open web and fosters an environment for new developers to learn from what's already great. However, the overhead of always sending down the full CSS probably isn't worth it since so few people are actually interested. http://…

HN discussionThere isn't really a magic number when it comes to the typography of a webpage. I'd be wary of using more than 3 unless you really know what you are doing. Two fonts, one for headings and one for body text, is probably most common. Even a single font can look great in the right situation. Also remember that you can play around with the font style/weight/case to create variations of the same font. Although selecting…
