What Hacker News says?
https://www.dannyguo.com/blog I'm still working on developing a habit of writing regularly. I love it when I find a personal blog post that perfectly solves a problem that I have (especially when that blog post is essentially the only resource for a very specific problem) or explains a concept better than anything else. So I'm trying to do the same for others for things that I know about. More people should share wh…

HN discussionYou can do both! I always remap my caps lock to act as escape when tapped and control when held. I wrote a blog post on how to do it: https://www.dannyguo.com/blog/remap-caps-lock-to-escape-and-...

HN discussionMapping Capslock simultaneously to both ESC and Control solved this problem for me. It might not be your piece of cake but it definitely improved my vim experience greatly. See for example (I'm not the author) https://www.dannyguo.com/blog/remap-caps-lock-to-escape-and-...

HN discussionJust happen to read another thread "my seatbelt rule for judgement" https://www.dannyguo.com/blog/my-seatbelt-rule-for-judgment/ ,I can't agree more. Before you make any judgement about anything, you need to learn about it. In this case, go visit Xinjiang, talk with natives, see with your own eyes, and then you know who's telling lies.

HN discussionI could have used this advice a long time ago. For a while, I wanted to blog about the random programming issues that I run into, but it always seemed like writing quality blog posts would take too much effort. I eventually created a dedicated page on my personal website. It's technically public, but I don't link to it from anywhere else on the website. It's just a way for me to practice writing and reflection witho…

HN discussionI accidentally published[1] my AWS secret key last year because I pushed an old project from college. At the time, I was very new to using source control and had little idea how to distinguish between what should and shouldn't be committed. I hope colleges and code boot camps go over that sort of info nowadays. The usefulness to effort to learn ratio seems exceptionally high. [1]: https://www.dannyguo.com/blog/i-pub…
