My name is Dennis Taylor. I share that distinction with several other authors and a couple of musicians, unfortunately. Which is why I'm using Dennis E. Taylor. No, not Dennise Taylor, dangit :-) . I am a retired computer programmer, snowboarder, mountain-biker, runner, and now author. I hope my nov

Fark yeah, wish the author would finish the series.* He left readers hanging so caveat emptor. Even so I can recommend the audio books as well. Great for doing laundry, mowing the lawn, etc. May as well copy the last update from Dennis E. Taylor here since I'm not alone in wishing we had more Bobiverse novels. http://dennisetaylor.org/2019/01/06/outland-is-in-the-can/ >And this means that I’m now back to writing the…

There are 5 Bobiverse books, all of which are marvelously read by Ray Porter on audiobook if you listen in the car on long, long drives like I do. The 5th book is an "audiobook only" release until January 2025 (I think) called, "NOT TILL WE ARE LOST". And the Bobiverse series has recently been optioned to Universal! http://dennisetaylor.org/status-of-things/

  5. The premise of "We Are Legion (We Are Bob)" is strikingly similar to Larry Niven's short story "Rammer" - down to the somewhat unusual terms "corpsicle" and "State". Revived, no rights (though in a wiped body; and intersteller terraforming). Hopefully, a homage, flagging some inspiration/similarity with Niven? Not sure whether you're asking for scifi published in 2017 or scifi we enjoyed in 2017. Here is the scifi I enjoyed in 2017 (via audible) - We are Legion (bob) trilogy About AI, space and Von Neumann machines http://dennisetaylor.org/legion/ - Ready Player One About life later in this century. Lots of VR and references to nostalgia from the 80s and beyond

I'm with you on sometimes wanting to just rip through a book, not having deep thoughts, but just turning page after page to find out what comes next. Really enjoyed the Bobiverse series: http://dennisetaylor.org/ . Reminded me a little of Greg Egan, but with a lot less maths and a lot more humour. Helps that the hero is a programmer ;_) Also the Brilliance trilogy by Markus Sakey. Very entertaining..
