What Hacker News says?

  1. I changed the format of my blog many times. I came up with this http://www.minid.net and its pleasant to read even on phone. The readers love it and it loads lighting fast. I can say faster than OPs website.

  5. With CSS-Grid now you can do practically most of the things without using dozens of CSS properties. I barely use Flex, even. But it's late for current CSS techniques, because I'm abduced to functional CSS ( http://minid.net/2019/04/07/the-css-utilitarian-methodology/ ) and I don't want to look back anymore ( http://minid.net/2019/08/12/in-defense-of-functional-css/ ).

  7. Yes, fotolog.com doesn't exist anymore but I would gladly elaborate. (full explanation here: http://minid.net/2019/04/07/the-css-utilitarian-methodology/ ) resume: why go with an OO architecture, when you can use inmutable classes and never again repeat the same properties in your CSS files. In the end, you end up developing faster and you can mantain code easily without having to build the entire UI arquitecture in…

  11. > the major stumbling block has been how tailwind is mostly just css translated into its own hard-to-memorize lingo. This is the only problem of tailwind, it relies on its own lingo, as all the OOCSS/BEM projects. When you involve semantics, you will always bring these kind of problems. I covered this problem and I solved it with this approach http://minid.net/2019/04/07/the-css-utilitarian-methodology/

  13. > Yeah, that's kinda the poster child use case for Tailwind and similar frameworks. Landing pages are all about being jazzy and unique and eye catching, and not so much about code reusability/composability. It doesn't matter, you can have an entire newspaper and perfectly done in functional css with incredible results without having to mastermind any architecture. http://minid.net/2019/08/12/in-defense-of-functional…

  15. Although the article was written by a human and looks full of logical arguments, most of them are not. They're purely emotional arguments: > "You can create a full spec upfront." If you're that naive, I know a guy in a white van who gives out free ice cream! Let me guess, you also believe software estimates are accurate and Santa is real. 17. JS didn't suplanted it from day to night. It was Steve Jobs who killed Flash, not letting Adobe from conquer their new iOS platform. They tried it so hard, even on Android back then, but they failed to deliver something solid. Eventually, both Google and Apple released their SDKs to develop apps, way more solid and faster than running a Adobe Flash player layer on top of the OS. This article shows the jump on techno…

  21. This approach never worked for me. Explanation here: - https://www.minid.net/2026/7/14/how-to-automatise-with-ai But in summary: the more bloated your AGENTS.md is, the worse the context consumption gets. The best approach I use is telling the agent to first think about what it needs to do, then choose which rules apply. I got 100% consistency across every area of my projects. In the post there's also a replica of o…

  25. I've learned that creating a solution for a X problem doesn't really scale as I though. I focus more now on creating a neccessity more than trying to solve problems for people. If those needs solve one or several problems, great, but my main focus is to create products that people need, or once they use it they adopt it because it became a neccessity. For those interested I extended my rationale here http://minid.ne…

  27. I crafted my own /investigate skill. Think of it as a version of /grill-me where you propose an investigation and dig into it until you come up with a spec backed by evidence. My investigation skill can create one, two, or dozens of probes with benchmarks. Once you're confident in the solution, you can plan and author the investigation, then execute it phase by phase. - Post https://www.minid.net/2026/7/14/how-to-au…
