Digital Science is the company blog at digital-science.com, writing about science and data. Since 2012, 11 different Hacker News readers have linked it 74 times, most often “The Lone Banana Problem”. It is still writing: the last post was on 2026-11-02, and you can follow it by feed.
Too few sampled comments (6) to say how often HN recommends it.?
Why HN links it
Linked mostly for Digital Science's GRID database of research organisations, plus a Dimensions data science job listing and a TLDR article. The comments do not judge any writing.
Summarised by Claude from a sample of 6 HN comments that link here. Each comment is marked recommending, critical or neutral (citing without judging); how this works.
Digital Science is a trusted partner providing research workflow solutions, and data and analytical insights for the research community

Everything has a persistent ID so it doesn't matter if a university changes name. It's awesome because this is the kind of thing you assume exists but actually doesn't, and is really quite hard to build yours…
