What Hacker News says?

  1. https://djhworld.github.io/ I mainly blog about the projects I've worked on/been passionate about. Namely: - I wrote a software CPU (at the gate level) to get a better understanding how simple CPUs work - I wrote a webassembly version of my gameboy color emulator Not been updated recently as I've not got many side projectson, but I hope you find them enjoyable

i-just-think-they're-neat.gif Have loved bloom filters for a long time. If probabilistic data structures that make use of hashing are your thing, you should also check out: https://djhworld.github.io/hyperloglog/

  5. Yeah From NAND to Tetris is probably a better more structured approach, I kind of just went off and did my own thing but I'd imagine it's more fun to get something playing Tetris! 7. Seeing the Pokemon boot screen reminded me, I forgot the project which made me start down this road. I don't know if you've seen gomeboy-color[1]? It's an emulator written in Go. The picture of Pokemon Yellow on their homepage is what made me decide I wanted to emulate the Gameboy and not the NES. It also inspired me to build an interactive debugger that understands the Gameboy memory map. It's _pretty sweet_ when y…

  9. I did something similar a year or so ago, a really fun and rewarding project https://djhworld.github.io/post/2019/05/21/i-dont-know-how-c... I didn't go as far as writing my own OS, but I did develop some simple functions to render characters on a screen and accept keyboard input.
