HN discussion> Afaik, in this case it's 'net/http' that pulls in a > dependency on cgo (again, unless we rebuild the whole > go toolchain with cgo_enabled=0). You can also build with '-tags netgo'[1], and use go for name resolution, but still use cgo for when else you may need it. [1]: http://dominik.honnef.co/go-tip/2013-09-07/#netgo

HN discussion> 1. Running strip on go binaries is a BAD IDEA: This is old information. It is perfectly fine to strip Go binaries and has been for years. This post does a pretty decent job of summing it up. https://dominik.honnef.co/posts/2016/10/go-and-strip/

HN discussionI'm using Emacs. Mainly because I'm proficient in Emacs and found it good fitting into my needs. If you want to argue that Emacs is not the IDE because it doesn't has feature X, then please not that it has great integrated internal environment. For Go "IDE" features check this: http://dominik.honnef.co/posts/2013/03/writing_go_in_emacs/ Vim has similar features.
