I see my above comment is still getting upvotes. If anyone is interested, I did end up writing a blog post as well: http://www.novemberwest.com/blog/2013/01/13/suicide-social-a... I did submit it to HN earlier. It hasn't inspired discussion, which is no surprise.

Thanks. My past has a variety of influences, including abuse and medical impairment. I have addressed quite a lot of my personal issues. Getting this back to the topic of body language, for me, I think eye contact was a big factor. I wrote about that here: http://www.novemberwest.com/blog/2011/07/17/an-invisible-shi...

I agree with you and wrote about it more than a year ago: http://www.novemberwest.com/blog/2011/07/02/lifestyle-busine... The short version: "I Love Lucy" was a lifestyle business dreamed up so that Lucille Ball and her husband could have children. It was easier to revolutionize an industry than have a two career couple and family, so they did. In terms of technical innovation, the show was the "Star Wars" of its da…

In support of your point, a logical analysis that is relevant to why open relationships really don't work if you are talking about serious intimacy and not just screwing around casually: http://www.novemberwest.com/blog/?p=5 Disclaimer: I wrote it. Yes, it's my site. Whatever.

I kind of doubt that. Recent discussions on HN have indicated that height is probably a proxy for good nutrition. (I linked to some of those discussions and supporting articles in a recent blog post of mine: http://www.novemberwest.com/blog/2013/01/28/beauty-and-the-g... No, I am not going to get the links for you. HN freezes up my browser. I am not that much of a masochist.)

I have several small websites. I think other people refer to all of them as "blogs". The one I think of as "my blog" is http://www.novemberwest.com/blog . It's a hodgepodge -- bitching about personal problems, talking about relationship stuff, "women's issues", a few photographs of stuff in San Diego, miscellany. It was created with the explicit intention of having a sandbox to write about stuff that I find interest…

After 5 years and 1 month, last week I finally launched my comic. http://www.novemberwest.com/comic/ No traction. Lots of crickets chirping. Kind of what I expected, though.

Yeah, um, you want to clarify what you are asking people to post? Because I have two webcomics I could use feedback on and I seriously doubt anyone would think that fits here, on HN. But your question is broad enough to toss it out there as a reply. However, I mean, this is HN, so I assume you don't mean that. Edit: Then, feedback welcome (publicly or via email or whatever): http://www.novemberwest.com/ http://lilno…

on “Ask HN: How can get people to stop gushing at me and, instead, promote me?” My account is apparently too new for me to submit this, which I guess answers my question as to how to post it (on its own or as a reply): http://www.novemberwest.com/blog/?p=136 Perhaps this will foster a little conversation here.

on “Update HN: Reverse Marriage Proposal - She said yes”I see your query has been here 5 hours and gotten no reply. I wouldn't be posting at all if you had something substantive. I suppose that makes this a Pity Post (sorry). FWIW, here are my thoughts on the topic as someone trying to figure out such questions myself (and I'm a tad older and greyer as well): http://www.novemberwest.com/blog/2011/07/02/lifestyle-busine... Best of luck.

Not to put you down, but I seriously doubt you are as acquainted with relationship drama as I am. It can be gotten past. Below is the link to my blog, where I have spent the past few months "anonymously" talking about my love life, debugging my own wetware, blah blah blah. It is specifically the link to the archive. I suggest you start at the beginning and go through it in chronological order (edit: Though the begin…
