Why HN links it
The linked post describes TreeFlat, a possibly faster tree structure for Rust inspired by APL. The comments only discuss which canonical URL should be used for the link, not the writing.
Summarised by Claude from a sample of 2 HN comments that link here. Each comment is marked recommending, critical or neutral (citing without judging); how this works.

HN discussionA app similar to square (a point of sale for iPad), but with more features. I doing a real-time sync (based in firebase) for it. This is a upgrade, semi-rewrite of http://www.elmalabarista.com/bestseller (until now only useful for wholesale distributors with ERP + Sync server) to help small shops to sell and replace DOS based POS software that is very common in my country and elsewhere. Is a single-man operation ;)…

on “Ask HN: What are you working on and why is it cool?”I "lost" a contract (to use http://www.elmalabarista.com/bestseller ) with a big company in my country. To make it short, they choose the company of a "friend of a friend", that use a outdated tech (windows mobile) with absurd-costly mobile devices (and they object our use of iOS! their devices cost 4x), that NOT work at all, that was collecting dust (literally) in a sub-company. I tell the guy that manage the sale:…

My side project is build a kind of alternative to MS Acces + Excel + Terminal, or a resurrection of a data centric development environment like Visual FoxPro was. Yep, this sound brutally complex. on “Ask HN: How to design an array lang (ex: APL or J) LLVM compiler?”Of curse is it. I have a iOS app that integrate with several ERPs/POS ( http://elmalabarista.com/bestseller ) that is used in my country. In first place, API???? What the hell is that? No kid, POS/ERPs don't know what a true API is. Is direct access to the DB, plan text files, and a lot of hyper-pain talking directly to the developers of that systems. And good look doing data archeology of all of that. Because this…

on “Ask HN: Who wants to be hired? (May 2026)”Oh, cool. I made my own attempt at the same kind of idea at https://elmalabarista.com/blog/2022-flat-tree/ . Is pretty simple actually. What I have observed (and my tree exploit) is that most tree are "too much" and I only have cared by pre-order tree and "sequentially" scan is the major op. So, the major takeaway is that if your case is simple, Go! Go! Vec!
