There are various schemes to use an org mode file as your configuration, which gives you all the niceties of org mode: collapsible headers, language-aware editing modes, etc. Here's one: http://endlessparentheses.com/init-org-Without-org-mode.html

HN discussionI don't synch between instances of Org, but you can install a full-blown Emacs (and many other apps) on Android within the Termux terminal emulator: http://endlessparentheses.com/running-emacs-on-android.html It runs Org fine, I've even used Spacemacs on Emacs runnning in Termux.

HN discussionUnite, fireplace, rainbow parens, vim-sexp and vim-surround are all available in Emacs with its own and better implementation. If you want Unite equivalent, check Helm which is created before Unite and is still actively maintained. See one of Helm package demo: http://tuhdo.github.io/helm-projectile.html . HN discussionhttp://endlessparentheses.com/cider-debug-a-visual-interacti... The cider debugger is one of the best I've seen. I've been able to stop, inject code and create a test case for failing tests. Cursive has similar functionality as well if you are afraid of emacs becoming a lifestyle :)

HN discussionI prefer keeping everything in one file (but exporting to separate files) so I hacked something up[1]. It doesn't build the index, but it would be pretty easy to extend to do so. There's also Arthur Malabarba's extension[2] to ox-jekyll that's a much more complete solution. [1] https://gist.github.com/andreareina/37c634f102f819db8e49828f...
