Why HN links it
HN readers mention Feeder, a browser extension and web RSS reader, to say they use it to read feeds, including YouTube links and paywalled articles. Comments concern the product, not any writing.

HN discussionThere’s a number of bridges from Twitter to RSS. I read Twitter in Feeder. See https://feeder.co/knowledge-base/rss-feed-creation/twitter-r...

HN discussionI use Feeder: https://feeder.co/ It’s not perfect and has a display limit of 50 for a feed’s most recent items, and you can’t sort feeds (unless you pay). But it works well enough. What’s nice is that it actually renders YT links in the reader, with the option to view them in “reader mode”, which conveniently prevents ads from showing.

HN discussionAt https://feeder.co onboarding is one of our largest hurdles to solve. For a lot of reasons we're lucky to get a lot of users who are completely new to RSS. This means we have a huge job in educating what RSS and what it's not. We've seen that a lot of large sites have stopped advertising their RSS feeds on their homepages, making it harder to detect via the standard means. Also, we've never stopped growing and are…

HN discussionI made http://feeder.co , a Chrome extension to simulate Firefox's RSS live bookmarks back in 2010. Now it has 500,000 active installs on Chrome and our cloud hosted service is netting around 1500 USD each month after costs (1700 subscriptions). Me and my twin brother have had it as a passive income thingie for years. After a failed attempt at selling it (SaaS metrics are NOT easy) we met a guy who saw some potentia…

HN discussionCould you please consider adding an RSS feed for the recent jobs? It's really popular for job seekers for staying updated on the various search sites. I'd love to add this site to our guide that we'll be expanding with general job seeking, not just remote: https://feeder.co/knowledge-base/rss-content/feeder-for-free...

on “Show HN: I made a site that aggregates entry-level positions”We’re working full time on https://feeder.co and growing MRR every month. Does the average consumer know what RSS is? No. Will it become the next Twitter anytime soon? Probably not. Is there a need for managing news outside of your e-mail inbox, our usage data definitely shows yes. Is the market ultra saturated? You betcha! That said we’re eager to help grow the space. Would love to know if HN has any ideas or feedb…

on “Ask HN: Is RSS dead?”Yeah absolutely. Our app is https://feeder.co . You can read a bit about our numbers on Indiehackers.com: https://www.indiehackers.com/businesses/feeder MRR is ~3100 USD right now.

on “Rise and Demise of RSS”RSS Feed Reader Chrome extension. Once I started using it, I abandoned all the other apps, etc. I had tried. • Website: https://feeder.co/ • Extension: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/rss-feed-reader/pn... I enjoy it enough I actually pay for a yearly subscription for the advanced features (see: https://feeder.co/pricing ).

on “Ask HN: What RSS Reader do you use?”Rather than having a daily list, I use Feeder (Chrome extension: http://feeder.co/ ) to read my RSS feeds, I had always preferred it to Google Reader, I never did get myself into the mantra of checking Reader often (it ended up being once every few months, when I randomly remembered) ; however Feeder is nice in its minimalistic approach, just showing me how many items for each feed, which encourages me to zero it ou…

on “Ask HN: What is your daily reading list?”Why are people obsessing over Google Reader as the only way to subscribe to RSS? There are a ton of alternative RSS readers around. I'm currently http://feeder.co/ , it's a Chrome extension.

on “Hacker News RSS”I, not yet wanting particularly to extricate myself from Chrome, use Ublock Origin Lite. It works about as well as the original (although it's less good with paywalls and blocking individual site elements, by which I mean 'not good at all'.) If you can and don't already I would try to replace as much as you can with RSS (which is also really good with paywalls - I use feeder.co and it lets me get around the Atlantic…

on “Ask HN: What ist your AdBlock strategy?”We've done something similar with Feeder Dashboard. You can mix RSS feeds and Twitter feeds, with unread/read states you get a glance of what you've missed, making it hard to fall into infinite scrolling. An example is our public dashboard for the us elections: https://feeder.co/dashboard/us-elections

on “TwitGrid – A simple, broadsheet layout for reading Twitter feeds”Absolutely! I found this post via my RSS feed for Hacker News. I really like the https://feeder.co/ extension, and even pay for the Pro license. There are a few minor bugs, but overall it works extremely well for me. I don't often use the account Reader feature, but the extension has a nice way to organize various feeds into categories/folders. You can stay on the free tier forever if you'd like, but to sync across…

on “Breaking Down the Chrome Web Store: An Exploratory Analysis of Extensions”I don't follow many blogs, but a service super related to SaaS businesses is ChartMogul ( https://chartmogul.com/ ). We were ( http://feeder.co ) completely blind before them. It's amazing how much you don't know about your own subscriber base. They do really good content marketing as well.

on “Ask HN: What sort of SaaS related content do you read?”I have gone for http://feeder.co/ because it is very lightweight and in-browser. And in-fact I like it more than Google Reader. I tried Feedly. It looks really shady as it adds something in the background and the UI is not good for reading.

on “Ask HN: What's the best Google Reader replacement?”The question is also meant somewhat ironically, i think everyone who uses rss knows that it is not dead. But i still find it interesting to understand how people use rss and why they stopped. Feeder did something similar, but stopped and I wanted to continue it. https://feeder.co/blog/484-state-of-rss-survey-the-results I also think that it would be wrong to not disclaim that I develop my own reader, but I am sorry…

on “State of RSS Survey 2025”There are many sites that store your RSS feeds in the cloud, those will simply be a webpage where you can see your latest feeds. For example: https://feeder.co/ If you want to keep rss stories locally, I think you will need a separate app because this isn’t built into any mobile browsers that I know of.
