Name: Guillermo Garron Occupation: Electronic Engineer More about me: I like to learn about Linux, Mac, Internet. I'm not a programmer but like to dig a little into programming, in fact I'm a failed programmer :). I'm the father of two (girl and boy), and I'm married. What Hacker News says?

  1. It was just the day before yesterday that I've written this http://garron.me/blog/what-i-have-learned-at-hacker-news.htm... About how I like HN, and why it is not yet-another-social-site full of kids trying to push their post to the top. Sorry if this sound negative, but I'd rather prefer HN as it is now, If I find something I think might interest this "mature" community I'll come here and post it, It does not matte…

  5. You are right, it would need less hardware for the same work. Two days ago I wrote this: http://garron.me/linux/perfect-blogging-platform.html But the way his comments work, they way he has implemented the infinite scroll it's great and I'm no expert, but I think that is not possible with static pages.

  7. Just because of that I have disabled fb like, twitter and g+ from my blog. I had also disabled google analytics but traffic started to go down. Today I have re-enabled analytics to see if that is the reason. I did not have too much traffic from fb or twitter to think that is because I took their buttons out. Anyway, I prefer to avoid those sites tracking my readers, savvy people can anyway share my content if they w…

There's a few options with regards to benchmarking your server install, here's a good intro article[1] I found for this. To follow up with 0x400614's answer, you'll want to look at `ab` - ApacheBench. [1] https://www.garron.me/en/go2linux/how-benchmark-stress-your-...
