What Hacker News says?
To be honest, I mostly use a physical calculator (Swissmicros DM41L, which is an HP41CX clone). Second choice is the i41CX+ app on my phone. The HP41 keyboard and operational patterns were etched into my brain at university, since my first engineering calculator was an HP41C. I have used rpncalc and T_REX ( https://isene.org/2021/02/T-REX.html ) in the terminal, dc or gforth in a pinch.

HN discussionThere is the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/X32_ABI for AMD64 at least. But it's looking rather bitrotten and is frowned upon by the snobs. Nobody is using it. Justine Tunney's https://www.justinetunney.com/ APE and Cosmopolitan libc shows what's possible, though. https://www.justinetunney.com/cosmo3/ https://www.justinetunney.com/ape.html https://www.justinetunney.com/matmul/ And then there is vibecoded stuff like h…

HN discussionWas browsing some of the other rust projects( https://isene.org/fe2o3/#tools ) and https://github.com/isene/torii says "Mozilla removed Firefox's "Open network login page" banner". I'm on windows and still see the banner so don't know if this is true. Is the really true on Linux?

HN discussionI highly agree with the pro-Lisp sentiment. The main article that comes to mind while reading this was also posted a little while back on this forum: https://isene.org/2026/05/Audience-of-One.html

HN discussionThis reminds me of the other article posted on here, https://isene.org/2026/05/Audience-of-One.html Everyday more bespoke dotfiles are coming online for an audience of one. I am not surprised that this is coming to hardware as well.

HN discussionBe your customer, write the software just for you, AI is so effective that you could do something meaningful for you just in spare tine. Here is the similar perspective: https://isene.org/2026/05/Audience-of-One-Numbers.html I was misunderstood you if you intend to write code by hand, I still did, I use AI to learn by example, but I write the real code myself, AI can help me improve the code. I learned a lot.
