Too few sampled comments (10) to say how often HN recommends it.?

Why HN links it

Blog of Gremlin, a chaos engineering vendor. HN commenters link its posts on distributed monoliths, incident severity levels, the Chaos Monkey guide, and SRE. None of the comments judge the writing.

Summarised by Claude from a sample of 10 HN comments that link here. Each comment is marked recommending, critical or neutral (citing without judging); how this works.

Reduce downtime, improve resilience, and protect revenue. Gremlin helps teams see where systems will fail, fix them first, and prove the results.

  5. So you begin by imitating Google's old logofont, and then you switch to something resembling Google's new logofont [1]. And for a company name, you decide to use the name of an established programming language and registered mark of a top-level Apache project [2], which has been in use since its inception over a decade ago, and incidentally it's a project and programming language that both your previous employers kn…

  7. Security is extremely important to us. Clients authenticate to our control plane either with a secret string or a certificate. Clients can be revoked at any point from our webapp and as well if the client loses communication to our control plane, any ongoing attack is halted. 23. If I understand correctly, one of the limitations of doing application level failure injection with Gremlin is that you need to integrate it into your code: https://www.gremlin.com/docs/application-layer/installation/ It might be interesting to combine these approaches and use a traffic split to send a percentage of traffic to Gremlin instead of integrating into the code directly.

Everything that you previously did on-prem has transitioned to the cloud.
