Why HN links it

The linked page is a personal project showcase, not writing. It describes shader-canvas, a low-level graphics library where each WebGL function has a matching HTML web component.

Summarised by Claude from a sample of 1 HN comments that link here. Each comment is marked recommending, critical or neutral (citing without judging); how this works.

What Hacker News says?

  1. A low-level graphics engine, where each WebGL function has a corresponding HTML tag (web component), like a-frame but low-level instead. https://hugodaniel.com/projects/shader-canvas/ The idea was to bring a more declarative vibe to the low-level WebGL API. Done for a personal project, but I ended up using Three.js because my time to develop it further was running out :(

  3. Im doing a small tool to provide diagnostics and play with shader limits, hopefully it makes finding these limits easier in different machines and OSes. Still an early WIP: https://hugodaniel.com/pages/webgpu-diagnostics The idea is to also see how Windows behaves and different drivers, and try to collect some safe boundaries
