Why HN links it
Hyvor Talk is a commenting service for blogs, not a writing site. Commenters mention using it for ad-free, privacy-respecting comments, export, and moderation, and discuss its pricing.
Summarised by Claude from a sample of 4 HN comments that link here. Each comment is marked recommending, critical or neutral (citing without judging); how this works.

HN discussionI use Hyvor Talk - https://talk.hyvor.com - for ad-free and privacy respecting commenting on my blog. I really wanted something that I can just use as a service, not host anything myself. But it's quite expensive. If I where to ditch it to save the money, I'd look into integrating Mastodon into the page, I saw somewhere that they used Mastodon as their comment system (it's basically a thread on Mastodon that is embe…

HN discussionI have Webmentions[0] setup for my static site's blog posts, and I also use HyvorTalk[1] for its simplicity and export feature (I could but don't want to host comments myself due to cost vs. usage). [0] https://webmention.io [1] https://talk.hyvor.com

HN discussionI use Hyvor Talk ( https://talk.hyvor.com/ ) for a Gatsby site. It supports markdown, custom color scheme, moderation, multiple languages and runs on almost any platform natively etc. It had a free plan till last month or so. Now, pages with less 5000 views are free. For more viewed sites, some minimal price is charged.

And, katex.renderToString has an option to set…

HN discussionHey! Great question. The installation code has two parts: <script> that registers the element <hyvor-talk-comments> element in the place user needs to load comments The script is hosted in our servers so we can push updates anytime we want. I hope that makes sense? (Our installation guide: https://talk.hyvor.com/docs/install )

HN discussionHere are some enjoyable technical experiences we had / decisions we made while developing Hyvor Blogs... Tech Stack Our other product, Hyvor Talk [ http://talk.hyvor.com ], handles more than 30 million users and 500 million requests each month for a considerably low hosting cost using monolith architecture. So, it was a no-brainer to use the same technologies: PHP and Laravel for the backend MYSQL for the primary da…
