  3. This is where SAR imagery comes into play [1]. There are a few SAR constellations online and being worked on that are shifting the discussion about what we can track [2][3]. 5. Except that no, it doesn't churn "clones"; MVC is quite a serious company and working on far more interesting stuff than whatever shit the SaaS or ads company you're statistically likely working at is. EIC churns out DeepTech, invests 2.5M nondilutive with funding horizons of 10+ years and larger equity-based programmes too. Multiverse is a quantum computing company working on energy-efficient AI algorithms. The EIC…

  7. ICEYE's website says high res (25cm) imaging is commercially available. Even has some sample 25cm res images available for download at the bottom of this page (I have not downloaded so can't vouch for it) https://www.iceye.com/satellite-data/blog/new-benchmark-in-i...

  9. Have you come across ICEYE? It's a high res commercial SAR constellation, and they have a deforestation monitoring service. They partnered with the Jane Goodall Institute - perhaps you could approach them? https://www.iceye.com/blog/deforestation-solution-9-essentia... https://www.iceye.com/newsroom/press-releases/iceye-and-the-... https://janegoodall.org/

  13. They pretty much all do by design, it prevents vapours from building up at the top of the tank which is a fire/explosion hazard. It works even better with high resolution synthetic aperture radar as you can measure the tank height displacement directly: https://www.iceye.com/blog/daily-analysis-and-forecast-of-gl...

  15. Really depends on the number of satellites, the target orbit(s), the payload/application, link strategy, the risk profile that you're willing to accept, etc. There are quite a few constellations that you can benchmark by: - Astrocast (IoT) [1] - Fleet (IoT) [2] - Iceye (Earth Obs) [3] - Planet (Earth Obs) [4] - Spire (Earth Obs, Navigation) [5] - Capella Space (Earth Obs) [6] And many more ... 17. The weapons militaries use are also manufactured by corporations. The question to ask is whether there's a hand-off; who operates the corporation operates the final system. It's completely plausible this is meant to be a product that is sold, not a service that is subscribed to. https://www.iceye.com/newsroom/press-releases/iceye-and-noki... specifically says "give nations ownership and control of the satellites"

  19. As someone who first started working with infrared photography on crops some 36 years ago this is an interesting development. My biggest problem in Michigan was clouds obscuring the field. I'm not certain however if you can see crop stress as well with infrared. But if I was still in ag I'd sure like to try;<). https://www.iceye.com/
