What Hacker News says?
Maybe he deserves a second chance, but he doesn't seem to have changed his ways much. http://www.jeremy-duns.com/blog/2014/9/7/kdgwxcbsned1rknh0h3... The last section, "Update", is of particular interest to you, as it relates directly to the audio transcripts from Chasing the Scream.

HN discussionThings are significantly more complicated with Hari than "mistake, apology, done". This article recaps the problems and even documents severe problems in his post-apology work. http://www.jeremy-duns.com/blog/2014/9/7/kdgwxcbsned1rknh0h3...

on “This bakery will hire anyone”It's worth noting that this article is by Johann Hari, who has a long history of telling compelling but untrue stories. Most recently about depression: https://www.theguardian.com/science/brain-flapping/2018/jan/... EDIT and the backstory: http://www.jeremy-duns.com/blog/2014/9/7/kdgwxcbsned1rknh0h3... He mentions Rat Park, which isn't as clear-cut as he makes out: https://slatestarcodex.com/2017/10/25/against-rat-p…

on “The drug debate in Japan (2018)”I'm against permanently "flipping the bozo bit" on any source, and yes, the grandparent post's pure-shunning against-the-person is both unhelpful and corrosive. But there's a case to be made that the extent of Hari's prior dramatic fabrications still hasn't been recognized, and that he still tends to embellish details in more recent work: http://www.jeremy-duns.com/blog/2014/9/7/kdgwxcbsned1rknh0h3... on “Johann Hari on the War on Drugs”Compelling story. Would be a lot easier to follow if author were clearer on relative dates. (How long after the 1939 threat was the first bust? The later SF bust? The final hospitalization?) Note the author, Johann Hari, has had some issues with accuracy and attribution in the past, and some argue that even his recent work is sloppy with quotes for dramatic purposes ( http://www.jeremy-duns.com/blog/2014/9/7/kdgwxcb…
