Too few sampled comments (2) to say how often HN recommends it.?

Why HN links it

Linked as related reading on the job status cycle, the idea that a new job title gains status, then loses it as more people adopt it. Commenters cite it on remote-work and DevOps job titles.

Summarised by Claude from a sample of 2 HN comments that link here. Each comment is marked recommending, critical or neutral (citing without judging); how this works.

Wandering the idea maze. I write about building software and businesses, psychology, cross-functional job roles, and how those all intersect.

  3. “Having done this job once upon a time, I think the downtrend in title is inevitable” I absolutely agree with this. It seems like a it inevitable for anything that a business needs to do but doesn’t really want to do. Another place where you see it is with project management, where there have been many different titles for the same role.[0] https://chiefofstuff.substack.com/p/the-job-status-cycle
