Kaspar's blog
Personal blog · kaspa.rs · on HN as k7dprogrammingweb
Kaspar's blog is a personal blog at kaspa.rs about programming and web. Since 2010, 4 different Hacker News readers have linked it 7 times, most often “Show HN: improved HN bookmarklet”. It is still writing: the last post was on 2026-10-03, and you can follow it by feed.
Too few sampled comments (1) to say how often HN recommends it.?
Why HN links it
Kaspar's blog hosts a bookmarklet that opens the Hacker News, Reddit and other submission threads for any URL. The one comment praises the tool, not any writing.
Summarised by Claude from a sample of 1 HN comments that link here. Each comment is marked recommending, critical or neutral (citing without judging); how this works.
My personal blog about various things which I thought might be a good idea to share.

What Hacker News says?
So after some quick hacking I created a new HN bookmarklet based on the new API: http://kaspa.rs/hn-bookmarklet/ If the current URL is added, it will go straight to discussion thread (without voting). If not, it will ask if you want to submit it.

HN discussionSame experience for me with HN Thread http://kaspa.rs/hn-bookmarklet/ . This seems to work much better. Let's take this url as an example http://daneden.me/animate/ . With HN Thread I get one page. With Hacker Panel I just get the submission screen. With this bookmarklet I get all three times the page was submitted to Hacker News. Thanks OP.
