What Hacker News says?

  1. Yes, the social chaos from the post-factual society is already here. And the frantic job cutting. And also the end of the open internet, replaced by slop addiction walled gardens. And of course accelerating climate change with full throttle fossil fuel use to power it all. https://ketanjoshi.co/2026/07/01/googles-exponential-path-to...

  3. > that people they don't like at the old place are allowed to have opinions again. Sorry, but I think that deliberately obfuscates the changes Musk has made at Twitter. See https://ketanjoshi.co/2024/04/19/you-are-the-fuel-that-energ... for one summary.

As a counterpoint, I recommend this article: https://ketanjoshi.co/2024/08/12/texas-builds-clean-power-bu... It looks into the numbers for the Texas renewable buildout, and there's a very important caveat: the amount of renewables you build is not the relevant metric. Emission reduction is. And Texas does not succeed there.

  7. > they have the potential to make our life better If you're a vegan as your nick suggests, i would suggest to reconsider this point. Capitalism was already bent on sending us towards a 6th mass species extinction (starting right under our noses), but so-called AI has changed the scale and speed of the curb drastically in only a few years. See for example this article for recent Google stats: https://ketanjoshi.co/20…
