Too few sampled comments (3) to say how often HN recommends it.?
Why HN links it
HN commenters link Kristoffer Carlsson's Julia material: a 2017 post counting Julia's open issues and PRs, and the OhMyREPL docs for his Julia REPL package. They cite these as sources or examples, not as praise.
Summarised by Claude from a sample of 3 HN comments that link here. Each comment is marked recommending, critical or neutral (citing without judging); how this works.

What Hacker News says?
Julia [1] has macros (not necessarily based on s-exprs though you can use s-exprs if you want) and a REPL [2] with some decent tooling (e.g., [3] [4]) [1]: http://julialang.org/ [2]: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CRiD12Y75wM [3]: https://timholy.github.io/Revise.jl/stable/ [4]: https://kristofferc.github.io/OhMyREPL.jl/latest/

on “Nim in 2018: A short recap”Wow. That's some explanation. Thanks. Do you use "rainbow brackets"? This example is first hit I found: https://kristofferc.github.io/OhMyREPL.jl/latest/features/ra... Such an obvious idea once you see it. Wish I had syntax coloring and rainbow brackets when I coded LISP for hire.
