Why HN links it
HN readers link this Medium blog for a long post on picking an open source license. The one comment cites it while arguing that Apache 2.0 is now dominant and cloud providers cooperate rather than rip off vendors.

What Hacker News says?
Wrote about the topic of picking an open source license in length: https://larskamp.medium.com/picking-an-open-source-license-a... Apache 2.0 is the dominant license at this point, mainly because to foster adoption. The whole scare about the clouds ripping you off, like it happened with Elastic, is not really valid anymore. The clouds have learned that it's better to cooperate.
