  5. Hi there! I'm Nate, Founder and CTO of Lever. Appreciate your feedback! As you've discovered, many B2B companies that primarily sell via inside or field sales do not post their pricing directly. Reserving the conversation around pricing until after you are in contact with a sales person is often helpful, because these products do have very different capabilities. We provide a consultative sales approach, listening c…

  16. I had a business that was a modern ATS. Then lever.co [1] came along, and I don't even think their business survived on the software alone as they had to transition into a full service recruiting/hiring company (but I could be wrong about this). [1] https://www.lever.co/

Even moreso than just a one person ranking, being able to have a team sign in, and different divisions and functional groups rank and prioritize their needs, and having it roll up into an organizational score. That is a place where you could monetize. https://www.scoutrfp.com/ and https://www.loopio.com/ play in this space. There's also the side of vendor management once you do make a selection. Even a service that…

  18. The target market for Google Hire was probably Lever's ( https://www.lever.co ) customers, i.e. mostly funded startups and other companies hiring white collar employees. For these businesses, $200-400/month for an Applicant Tracking System is pretty inline with market. Lever's pricing is higher as far as I've seen.

A big part of why I left and founded Lever is that I'm super passionate about enterprise software, and vertical enterprise software (even in huge markets) isn't aligned well with Google's core business.

  21. waves Y'all are talking about me. I was indeed on the wave team, although I joined Wave right near the end. (And then I stayed on to help opensource the whole thing.) We wrote ShareDB at Lever[1], which was in the 2012 YC batch (iirc). We wrote it to allow realtime collaborative editing in our application of all our data fields by default. I'm still really proud of that work. ShareDB primarily uses JSON-OT[2], which…

This might sound obvious now, but it is pretty new! Thus, most companies are still figuring a lot out when it comes to recruiting. 30. Hey! I'm Nate, one of the founders of Lever and our CTO. Sourcing is a word that companies and recruiters use to mean going out and finding candidates that aren't looking for a job (passive), but that have a really high relevance to what the company is looking for. As hiring has gotten increasingly competitive, companies have been finding that the best candidates usually come from a personal connection. The best can…
