Create is the CMS UI shell around a WYSIWYG editor (well, potentially around other widgets you need like datepickers and choosers as well). We could use Mercury quite easily as another editor option. Create's editor options are provided as jQuery UI wrapper widgets, for example: https://github.com/bergie/create/blob/master/src/editingWidg... 3. http://blog.liip.ch/archive/2013/10/29/hhvm-and-symfony2.htm... Doesn't look to be "an order of magnitude faster" - 200% faster in some cases - certainly nice numbers, but not a massive game changer for many (yet?).

  5. That's a good question. PHP 5.5 with the newly-open sourced (and integrated) opcache gave it a good run for its money before this optimisation sprint [1]. Under real-world 'bloated framework' usage, HHVM was already pretty cool [2]. I'd like to see the results after this speedup. 1. For simple code only - once it's more computationally intensive, HHVM wins. http://www.alexfu.it/2013/10/22/symfony-benchmark-on-hhvm.h…

  7. where exactly? on the flickr image? Or actually on http://blog.liip.ch/ ? Even if there should be an exception (which of course can happen), it shouldn't show the stacktrace anymore. But we're not perfect, so I wouldn't rule out anything.

  9. It's not, I guess, since the comment is available from here: http://blog.liip.ch/ "I often get asked by potential employees and clients, why we do PHP and mostly PHP only. A valid question, of course and my first answer usually is (besides the "historical reasons" one), that nowadays all those server side (scripting) languages are mainly the glue layer between the front-end (the browser part) and the back-end (your…

  11. Docker reslly seems to gain a lot of momentum but there is still a need to mature the tooling around it, this looks like a great step in that direction. Semi-related see also http://blog.liip.ch/archive/2014/06/01/how-i-use-docker-on-o...
