Maja Kądziołka's personal blog at niedzejkob.p4.team covers programming and systems. Since 2021, 8 different Hacker News readers have linked it 14 times, most often “Compiling Rust is NP-hard”. It is still writing: the last post was on 2026-02-13, and you can follow it by feed.
Too few sampled comments (4) to say how often HN recommends it.?
Why HN links it
HN commenters link Maja Kądziołka's pages on bootstrapping minimal systems and on the NP-hardness of Rust's pattern matching. The comments cite them as references and do not evaluate the writing.
Summarised by Claude from a sample of 4 HN comments that link here. Each comment is marked recommending, critical or neutral (citing without judging); how this works.

What Hacker News says?
Why to build Linux you always have to start with Linux, is there anyone who bootrapped it from freebsd or any other OS, minimalistic systems like https://niedzejkob.p4.team/bootstrap/ , etc?

HN discussionIts a pitty that Linux itself still cannot be bootstrapped without the Linux env - at least no one has done it yet. Anyway thanks to this reproducible-builds efforts maybe the awarness of this serious problem will grow and we will see more support into the projects like https://github.com/fosslinux/live-bootstrap , https://niedzejkob.p4.team/bootstrap/

HN discussionThat's somewhat similar to what I'm doing with Miniforth [0]. Programming in a minimal environment is fun . I don't have a separate machine, so I'm booting my main laptop from a thumbdrive. The difference in boot time is staggering – after BIOS loads the boot sector, everything else is instant. This is instrumental to my strategy for tricking myself into working on the project – normally, I'm very prone to going off…

HN discussionAs an N=1 sample point, I've programmed in Rust for years now, extensively using generics, and have not once ran into this issue. NP-hardness only shows the worst case is really difficult. It does not mean that an approach is not useful. For example, Rust's exhaustive pattern matching is also technically NP-hard: https://niedzejkob.p4.team/rust-np/
