What Hacker News says?
Alright. As an exhausted 37 year old, I'm going to stick my neck out and explain why I've chosen to put myself at the back of the queue for vaccines this time around. I'm sure the authorities will find some way to force me to take it at some point, but refusing these vaccines is a rational position. You may not agree with it, but it's based on rationality and logic. So here are my reasons. Firstly, I don't believe C…

HN discussionCheck this article out for some food for thought: https://drmalcolmkendrick.org/2017/04/01/what-causes-heart-d... In short, alcohol may be slightly toxic to brain cells, but it may also significantly reduce heart attack risk. Not much value in having a toxin-free brain if you're dead/stroke from CVD.

HN discussionNot the op, but I encountered this theory through Dr. Malcolm Kendrick’s blog [1]. I’m only have a basic medical education (studied clinical psychology at a medical university), but I find the theory plausible. Kendrick’s criticism of the currently dominant cholesterol/statin paradigm is definitely worth looking into 1. https://drmalcolmkendrick.org/2016/01/21/what-causes-heart-d...

HN discussionBased on current data? I have no idea. It's an absolute mess: https://drmalcolmkendrick.org/2021/09/03/i-have-not-been-sil... For a start, we could stop making claims that we don't know to be true. Replace "the vaccine is safe and effective, and if we all get the vaccine the pandemic will be over" with "the vaccine is the best tool we have to prevent serious disease and death".
