Why HN links it

Commenters link Manuel Chakravarty's posts on the thinking behind Haskell for Mac playgrounds, the Repa array research behind the Blaze NumPy design, and whether programming languages are languages.

Summarised by Claude from a sample of 3 HN comments that link here. Each comment is marked recommending, critical or neutral (citing without judging); how this works.

  3. a lot of the design ideas are pulled from some great research http://justtesting.org/repa-3-more-control-over-array-repres... (that paper is the most current relevant one, though theres a few others). chatted with stephen about Repa and hpc code engineering the evening before the talk, its all haskell ideas ported to python land under the covers :) (as the slide deck admits!)

Children's brains are highly plastic; if they were immersed in people speaking code language as they speak natural language constantly, then they would learn that, too.
