HN discussionThat was Linksys not Netgear. re: GPL/LGPL being the most successful software licenses, that seems to be changing in favour of permissive licenses like MIT/BSD/Apache Back in 2013, Aaron Williamson of the Software Freedom Law Center did an analysis of licenses used on Github. The MIT license outnumbered all variations of GPL + LGPL licenses combined, second to MIT on the list was BSD (of course, it should be mention…

HN discussionBoudin tenure was 2 years. Do you really think sociatal effects like this crimewave can occure because of the actions of a single officer in two years? Wouldn't a global pandemic that severely effected the economy in a country that hates socialism where huge swathes of the population don't have functioning support systems could be factors that pretty much explain away[1] Boudin's and Soros influence? on “Apple only lets me choose a default search engine from its pre-approved list”That is my understanding. But then again, the angle between of two random points in a high dimensional unit hypercube is 90, so cosine similarity is suspect too. High dimensional spaces are weird like that. https://martin-thoma.com/curse-of-dimensionality/
