Martin Ueding's personal blog at martin-ueding.de covers programming and math. Since 2016, 5 different Hacker News readers have linked it 5 times. It is still writing: the last post was on 2026-11-02, and you can follow it by feed.
Too few sampled comments (2) to say how often HN recommends it.?
Why HN links it
HN readers cite Martin Ueding's posts on programming: a qsort benchmark comparing C function-pointer calls with C++ and Rust generics, and a write-up of a Project Euler solution. Comments link them as support, not praise.
Summarised by Claude from a sample of 2 HN comments that link here. Each comment is marked recommending, critical or neutral (citing without judging); how this works.
What Hacker News says?
The C code is forced to use a function pointer and hence do dynamic virtual calls for each comparison, while Rust and C++ can use generics/templates to get static dispatch (and hence inlining, constant folding etc.). You can see C vs. C++ in http://www.martin-ueding.de/en/programming/qsort/index.html , and Rust is likely to be similar to C++.
