Why HN links it

HN readers link Matt Adereth's blog for its posts on OpenSCAD and Clojure (scad-clj) for designing 3D-printed keyboards, plus a 2013 post on the i3 window manager and a 2017 Mathematica post.

  7. It should be noted that i3wm installs and runs easily on distros such as Ubuntu and Fedora too - which is how I was introduced to it (after liking the tiling aspects from Unity, but not the graphics card/RAM hit that came with it). The i3 edition of Manjaro is heavily customised and almost an entirely different beast (i3-gaps etc). This is the piece that swung me: https://adereth.github.io/blog/2013/10/02/why-you-sh…

  13. the problem with every single pandora-spin off is this: they try to do a full product and sell it like a finished product (mostly to game pirates) What they should do: work on the case, and do something like the ergo-dox cases[0], where the case walls are a pile of 0.5" planes, so you can have as much space inside for your additions as you want. And then on the top of the case include the LCD clamshell and the keybo…

  19. Shameless self promotion, but you might be interested in scad-clj [0]: a DSL to write OpenSCAD with Clojure. You can get a decent interactive environment combining an editor with an OpenSCAD window set to only show the render [1].
