Too few sampled comments (1) to say how often HN recommends it.?
Why HN links it
HN readers link one post on Go's WebAssembly target, cited as a likely reason for large wasm output because the compiler bundles a garbage collector. The comment only cites it, with no judgement of the writing.
Summarised by Claude from a sample of 1 HN comments that link here. Each comment is marked recommending, critical or neutral (citing without judging); how this works.

What Hacker News says?
The Go wasm arch/target generates and bundles a GC. That likely contributes to the significant size of the wasm output ( https://matthewphillips.info/programming/wasm-golang-ce.html )

HN discussionGreat article! I attempted something very similar and wrote about it here: https://matthewphillips.info/programming/wasm-golang-ce.html Like the author I'm pretty enthusiastic about using Go for web development. The interop story is quite strong. My biggest concern is the binary size. 1.3mb for what is essentially a hello world. Given that Go needs to include garbage collection I'm a tad worried they won't be able t…

HN discussionI caught Hover.com doing something similar[1] a couple of years ago. They were adding forwards not for subdomains but paths of the root domain. I actually switched to Name.com for this very reason, troubling to see another pulling this stuff. [1] http://matthewphillips.info/posts/no-thanks-hover.html

HN discussionFor those thinking about using this, it bears mentioning that there are a few caveats to script type=module that makes it difficult to use with a lot of modern workflows, namely: 1. No way to dynamically import a module (the article explains this). 2. All imports must be relative or absolute urls, so either ./foo.js or /foo.js or http://example.com/foo.js This means you can't npm install lodash and import the string…

I'm well adverse in the Mozilla Web APIs and maintain my own fork of B2G. I don't rely on JQuery or any other JS training wheels. Currently working on an abstraction layer for IndexedDB based on redis commands. I also have an app (written in Java) in the Android market. See my many projects at https…
