What Hacker News says?

  1. I would give it a try. A reinstall of the OS is more thorough than wiping the data from it. http://mglenn.com/blog/2017/12/22/apples-bungled-battery-fea...

  3. It should not take apps 10 seconds to launch on an iPhone 6 running iOS 11. Something probably went wrong with your upgrade, which does happen. Have you tried taking a local backup, doing a factory reset of the phone, and then restoring the backup? See for example: http://mglenn.com/blog/2017/12/22/apples-bungled-battery-fea...

  4. > All I did recently was to reset the OS because it felt very sluggish on iOS 11 and after the reset it got a lot better. Apparently general sluggishness is not caused by the battery, but by some rogue iOS system process (which a reset fixes). https://daringfireball.net/linked/2017/12/22/glenn-iphone-sl... if "everything" is slow on your iPhone, it’s probably not this issue related to older batteries. 7. If you go back to how this was originally discovered, it was in public aggregate benchmarks: https://www.geekbench.com/blog/2017/12/iphone-performance-an... The thing to note here is that even in the charts of older devices, by far the largest peak is at max performance. In other words, most older phones, even running the new code, were not being slowed down when they were benchmarked. There's no evidence I know of…
