Too few sampled comments (1) to say how often HN recommends it.?

Why HN links it

Linked as a comparison of the HTC Incredible and Nexus One phones. The one commenter cites it to argue that a phone's usability is debatable, and praises the Peep Twitter client, not the post.

Summarised by Claude from a sample of 1 HN comments that link here. Each comment is marked recommending, critical or neutral (citing without judging); how this works.

What Hacker News says?

  1. That’s how I do it. .env files are terrible if you’re using them with a language specific loader. The entire point of env is that it’s an abstraction you can manipulate externally. You can setup the env, then launch the program. It allows for runtime changes. https://whalesalad.com/blog/doing-python-configuration-right You can do it right without packages or external dependencies.

  3. http://whalesalad.com/tasty Original price was $29, and there was a Premium variant for $49. Eventually the source that was pushing so many customers to my site stopped using the theme herself, and my traffic/sales died substantially. I figured, "It had a good run, time to move on) so lowered the price to capture more of the trailing edge.

  5. Usable is a bit debatable: http://whalesalad.com/blog/incredible-vs-nexus-one/ With that being said, Peep is fairly awesome. It's one of the best Twitter clients I've ever used.

  7. The EVO is gigantic and those of us who have had the pleasure of using both Sense UI and the vanilla Android OS for an extended amount of time tend to agree that Sense is a bit too much. As I quoted in a previous article of mine, "It feels a lot like desktop Linux: unpolished, but covered in gloss." Link: http://whalesalad.com/blog/incredible-vs-nexus-one/

  9. I've made about $8,000 in sales selling my own theme modeled after the site I built for iJustine (theme link: http://whalesalad.com/tasty ) but that's just a teeny fraction of what you made, let alone Woo! I have more in the pipe... but there's only one of me =/

  11. There are few scenarios where url shorteners come in handy... one being Twitter, and the other being times when you get an insanely long and unwieldily querystring moster like earlier when I was sending some directions from Google Maps to a friend. For the former [Twitter], I wrote about what I think could be a simple and effective solution on my blog. Enjoi - http://whalesalad.com/blog/how-twitter-can-eliminate-url…
