  3. The Lenovo X1C3 is not that bad. I recommend it & it runs Archlinux beautifully. https://natalian.org/2015/02/18/Archlinux_on_a_Lenovo_X1C3/ Yes, Lenovo sales and support are pretty hopeless. Just got to factor that fact in. Must say Apple are pretty hopeless unless you get Apple care. Anyway, the real problem in my mind is that there is pretty much no competition to Intel nowadays.

  9. Inspired by this post, I decided to document my backup strategy and shortcomings here: https://natalian.org/2019/01/20/Data_I_would_not_like_to_los... tl;dr I'm trusting Apple.

  10. Speed isn't everything to me. I love the fact that for example view-source: http://natalian.org/2015/07/06/Bank_secrecy_in_Singapore/ is more readable than most blogs.

  11. I'm aware of that easy API of getting stuff to glacier, but once it "expires" to glacier, how do you check what's actually there? It quickly becomes a nightmare for me. Hence I need git! http://natalian.org/2015/04/13/How_I_organise_my_media/

  12. I was naive enough to visit the region in 2004 and I wrote to my MP back in 2006 not to get involved https://natalian.org/2006/08/01/british-forces-in-afghanista... Entirely predictable and I wanted to say that the Taliban misogyny is bit unfair. Offer free quality education for their sons and daughters and you'll see real change, I promise you.
